For the second year, Lyrical Lemonade held its two-day Summer Smash music festival in Chicago for 20,000 fans. Opposition was on site to support Lyrical Lemonade with its line up of over 40 acts including hip hop’s most talented and biggest names. The festival included performances from Playboi Carti, Gucci Mane, Trippie Redd, Ski Mask the Slump God, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Lil Yachty, Blueface, and Opposition talent including Juice WRLD, Cam’ron, and G Herbo. The Opposition-sponsored stage was dedicated to shining a light on hip hop’s up and coming artists, including our very own TisaKorean and Cyrax.

The weekend was a huge success even if Day 2 was interrupted by a wild storm that required the entire festival shut down and evacuated. After the four hour delay, we were back on our feet and able to get all confirmed artists to perform. Tons of respect for the on-site Opposition and Lyrical Lemonade teams for working around the clock to make sure the festival went smoothly. Despite the tight schedule and Mother Nature against us, everyone hustled their asses off managed to have all 20 acts perform on two stages in less than four hours. The payoff: having Juice WRLD close out the wild day with an amazing set.
